I got three questions though. 1) What is the security on this device? If it gets stolen I know you can probably go online and cancel your account at Amazon but what about in the mean time? Can someone possible order a bunch of ebooks at random? Does it even have a password? 2) Are the web pages WAP? Like are the pages in WML? I know it probably is but I would still like to ask. Also does it cost extra to browse? 3) I'm not sure on cellphone techonology but will this work in other countries if Sprint EVDO is avaible? __________________ EoFu |

If you lose the Kindle or it is stolen, you simply go online to the "Manage Your Kindle" area of the Kindle website and deregister it. The purchases that you made through the Kindle Store remain in your account and you can transfer them to another Kindle. If someone stole your Kindle and ordered a bunch of books, you would simply derigester the Kindle and contact Amazon about the bogus purchases. 2. The only information that I found about the Kindle's web browser is that it is NF Browser 3.3. There is no extra charge to use the Kindle to access the Web. 3. Currently the Kindle can only be purchased in the United States. If you purchase one and take it overseas, it is my understanding that you would have to use your computer to purchase books through the Kindle Store and then use the USB cable to transfer them to the Kindle. Since this is such new technology, there are bound to be questions on how everything works and I am sure that Amazon will refine things even more as time goes on. |
