Default Antec Sonata 500 review

Thanx for good info and full-sized pix. Was looking for a mid-sized case for a general-purpose home machine, and your review was the final nudge in purchasing the Antec. Opted for an additional front 12cm fan.

Hello,

I personally like this case, it provides a good cost/benefit for average users.

Thanks.

Cheers,
Gabriel.

so has anyone actually used this case?
many of the reviewers on newegg say there is an electrical short on the front panel.
they say whenever they plug in a usb device or even sometimes just touch the front, the pc will reset
I've also heard that this case now comes with the AE500D power supply, not the AE500 power supply
the AE500 is the one made by seasonic, the new EA500D is made by Delta, but hasn't been reviewed as extensively as the EA500

I'm thinking about getting it because it can be picked up at JR music for $99
http://www.jr.com/sonata-iii-desktop.../pe/ANT_15137/

but they also have the Antec 96580 NSK6580 Super Mid Tower Case for $109
http://www.jr.com/antec/pe/ANT_96580/
smaller power supply, but still adequate for my needs, seems to have a much bigger interior

anybody have any comments?

Hello,

That is the case I am currently using on my desktop since nov/2007. I had no problems with it and no short-circuit problems as described.

The power supply that came with this case I reviewed separatedly, so you can take a look on it by yourself:

Cheers,
Gabriel.
