Hi
I have a 5 mnth old pc - with KT6V motherboard; 512 ram and two disks (160 Gb Seagate and 80Gb WDC)
Processer is AMD Sempron.
I run/ran a dual boot with Win2kPro and SuSe 9.2.
After installing a new DVD drive - I lost the Win2k. Still dont know how that happened.
The boot system is Grub and however much I change the bios - I cant get the CDrom drive to work - except on the Linux part. So it isn't he CDrom drive.
I tried adding a line in grub to have a boot option for the cdrom but no luck.
A colleague told me that the bios numbering and the linux numbering dont match.
Anyone out there have any luck doing this?
I spent most of yesterday searching the web to no avail.
I ended up fdisking the c partition but cant get any floppies to recognize the windows partion (FAT32) I know that NTFS is better for large disks - but the fdisk didnt support NTFS.
My netbank only works on MS so I'm a bit nervous, and need to get it back. Thought that booting with CDrom might solve the problem - if I could get the drive to work that is.
One other thought - maybe it's the mbr thats the problem.
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers
