ok so, my brother and i both have the game for our pc's, and we both have our own copies. Sometimes when he or i are already in a server and the other tries to join, the 1st one of us in that server gets dc'd, but not always, but always the one that was in first cant join any server for a good 5-10 minutes. sometimes its fine, both are patched to 1.6, wired into a linksys dual wi-fi router, running 1.5mg u/d dsl. ive ran across this same problem while googling, and people have reported that port forwarding doesn't seem to work..... problems ghosting ip's? im really out of ideas except asking for opinions from you folks. Any help is much appreciated

Thst´s strange, probably the server is blocking 2 connections with the same IP.

yea well the odd thing is there are times where it doesn't happen at all, different servers doesn't help usually- only a few i know of that it seems to happen less. And yea only this game, we both have battlefield 2 and battlefield 2142 and never happened once

I play cod4 alot and know quite a bit about the game, alot of technical stuff too.

When you or your brother get disconnected does it say you got kicked by punkbuster? does it say anything?

Most of the time if somebody gets disconnected from a server it will post a msg at the bottom of the screen stating who got kicked whether he timed out or something along those lines. What you should do is replicate the problem again and when one of you gets disconnected, ask the one who is still in the server to bring down the console by hitting the 'tilde' key and shift key together (tilde key is above your tab key on the far left normally). This will show you the error and reason why the disconnection occurred. Once you have that info you can better troubleshoot this problem.

Just post back here with what it says when you get disconnected.

yea i already tried that kind of, just says when we get dc'd that we either timed out or "server disconnected", and when it says the latter both of us get kicked so we cant check the console. We both have the newest punkbuster so im all out of ideas.

I'd say it's the IP - automatically trying to block bootleggers

well heres another interesting thing, at my house (ive since moved to my own place) my brother and i and our cousin can play on the very same server.... no problems whatsoever, and from what ive seen it doesnt seem to have a time limit.... this has me so baffled i don't know what to think anymore
