I then took apart an Epson wide format 1520, broke a few things before completely reassembling it. It was no good the way it was so it was an excellent learning experience! Your instructions and pictures were great! My question is this, my friend had an Epson that used archival ink, I think it's dye, is it ok to use the windex/alcohol on the print heads and pads?

Thanks for your nice words and sorry about not replying you sooner.

You should use isopropryl alcohol (isopropanol). It is sold at any Wal-Mart.
