i just started overclocking and i simple increased the CPU bas clock a bit but i have a problem , sometimes when i play a game it suddenly freezes and i'm left with a black screen .
i read some of the tutorials and installed speedfan , it tells me all temperatures are under 45C so my cpu overheating isnt the problem.

so here's my question is there a way to check if my graphics card is overheating?

any advice would be greatly apreciated since at the moment most of this is chinese for me .

using - ati radeon 1650X PRO (agp)
- AMD athlon 3000+
- K8 combo Z

yup run graphics intensive program's after 5-10 mins touch the heatsink, if you carnt hold you finger on it its too hot...

that or google it

or go into Catalyst Control Centre and somewhere among the setting and options is what temp you'r card is at anything above 85c loaded is bad

to fix it have you tried memtest86 to check you'r RAM for error's and a good old format?

edit: Oh and what PSU have you got?

i have a LC-B400ATX power suply .

what should i do to overclock my CPU without it affecting my graphics card?
my motherboard offers me a lot of options but no "locking" option for my graphics card tho , so i'm kinda lost there.

on the other hand i can set memory , HT frequency , CPU voltage etc

Hi

When you overclock your system everything is "overclocked" as well, not only the CPU and the VGA (e.g. memory, chipset, HDD). We've written a comprehensive guide on how to overclock AMD CPUs, please read it because it can help you a lot:
