I have a Gateway MX3228 that had 512MG of RAM in it. It is upgradeable to 1GIG of RAM, which I ordered through Gateway. I installed it and the system still only shows that there is 448MG of RAM as it did when the 512 chip was in it. The laptop does not function any faster. I see no difference in the laptop at all. The gateway techs are at a loss as to what to tell me. This is the second chip they have sent me. I did read an article that had something to do with "flashing the bios". But I know nothing about how to do that. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
