You might want to post a few more details about you'r PC

i.e. PSU wattage, and RAM, and the core name of the CPU

some time there is very little gain to be had by overclocking your CPU because you have a bottle neck in the RAM. Or you'r PSU might be right on its limits and so overclocking may just kill it or end up you just having to run stock values again

If memory serves me corectly then that motherboard has no overclocking options in the BIOS so the only way to do it would be to overclock the FSB in windows now I would never recomend this to any one who hasn't overclocked anything before.

first learn about you pc read some articles tomshardware(google) is a great place to start, mess about with your graphics card a bit (nvidea - coolbits ) (ATI - ATItool)

well overclocking you be reasonably beneficial, although you'r PSU isn't that strong. But with that cpu it shouldn't be overloading it.

download speedfan (google for the application) and check you'r tempriture's post them here ill tell you if there alright to overclock (you need a cool CPU if it overheats it can be basically destroyed also a cool cpu gives you more headroom)

the corename of you'r cpu is basically differn't revision's of the same cpu

like p4 prescott and northwood the prescott is renownd to run very hot, whilst the northwood run's cooler and overclock's higher but essentially they are still the same.
