Hi

I have decided to replace my old cpu Intel Pentium 4 524 (http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SL8ZZ) with new core 2 duo E6600
(http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SL9ZL)

Does that will improve the speed my PC or there is no need to upgrade ?

this is my PC specification

motherboard : P5VD2-MX SE
VGA : MSI NX8600GT 256MB
memory: DDR2 1 GB 667.

Man, you are comparing water to wine... Core 2 Duo will be a lot faster than Pentium 4, first it has dual-core technology, i.e. it has two complete CPUs inside its package, secondly it uses a complete different (and faster) internal architecture...

Just for the record, Pentium 4 is based on Netburst microarchitecture, while Core 2 Duo is based on Core microarchitecture.

If you are interested in knowing the internal differences between the two:

And yes, please use two or four memory modules in order to enable dual channel technology and thus improve your system performance.

Cheers,
Gabriel.

Core 2 Duo happened to be lot more faster than any of Pentium 4,beyond imaginations, because of its internal architecture and technology.
it contains two processing units inside(2 in 1).

If budjet allows just carry on
