HI guys,
Mine is a p-4, 2.4 Ghz intel system ,it has 4 usb ports,i am using windows xp pro as OS.when i connect thumb drive the power is getting suppplied,but usb is not getting detected ...
when i opened divice manager,universal serial bus controllers option is not present,it is not even present in yellow color..
I even checked whether ---usb is enabled in CMOS setup
i found USB controller blank (not even in grey),there is no option present to enable or disable.
what might be the problem.... ?...(i got my bios flashed a month ago with latestest BIOS update),is it problem with OS or Bios

Hi,
It seems that the USB ports from your motherboard aren't being recognized. I would try installing the latest version of the chipset drivers.
First you need to know what chipset brand your motherboard uses (Intel, VIA, SiS, etc).
Then go to the chipset manufacturer website and download the latest drivers:
