Hi,

To use your TV as a video monitor, you need to connect your S-Video output located on your video card to your "video in" input on your TV.

Please notice that SPDIF stands for digital audio, having nothing to do with video.

Also, the image will be very bad, since TV sets work at 640x480 interlaced mode only.

If you are connecting you PC to a LCD panel or HDTV, please read our tutorial on how to make this connection:

Cheers,
Gabriel.

I am having a similar problem using my tv as a monitor.

I have a Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop and a 1080i LCD Philips tv. I have a cable that connects the VGA output from my laptop to YPbPr connection on my tv. My tv keeps saying no video signal detected. Any tips or suggestions?

I have a similar problem with a desktop MC PC. What I have learned so far is that it takes more than a cable to make this conversion work. WWW.HDTVSUPPLY.COM sell some conversion boxes to do the job. About $150 - $200. In my case I am thinking upgrade my AGP video card to one that supports component connections (YPbPr). Problem is that it is not clear from vendors websites which boards have this. ATI says three are possible choices Radeon X1300 Pro, Radeon X1600 Pro and Radeon X1650 Pro. Does anybody have experience using one of these boards with an HDTV?

Not sure what the nVida possiblities are? Any ideas?

Looks like any video upgrade will also require a upgrading my current 230 watt power supply also.

Thank you for any ideas, input or comments.
