I'm concerned about the heat the system generates in conjunction with it's age. I've done some research on this so I'm not asking blindly, but I'm not as tech savvy as some of you and sometimes have a hard time distinguishing hardware model's and statistics. I have downloaded three heat-style monitering programs so far: Motherboard Moniter - does not seem to support this model. Notebook Hardware Control - I have running and shows a 67-75c CPU temp. Hmoniter - I have running intermittently as I havn't regestered it yet, and shows a CPU temp of 49-55c. I have a couple of questions, 1. how do I find the "Actual" current running temp as I have downloaded 2 programs for monitering heat: "Hmoniter" shows it running around 49-55c and "Notebook Hardware Control" shows 67-75c. 2. Is there any actual sensors on this system that show Fan RPM's? And if so are there and programs to control or moniter them? Hmoniter can't find them if so. 3. What programs have any of you used on this system model to reduce heat generation? 4. What exactly is the temp threshold of my CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T7200 @ 2.00GHz --- I'm guessing from what I've read that it's dangerous at 80c and deadly at 100c, but I've read other pages that show it lower so I was hoping for some confirmation. Here's the full system stats to the best of my knoweledge: Area-51 m9750 Windows XP Pro Service Pack 3 CPU_Name: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T7200 @ 2.00GHz Memory Modules (2): DDR2 2048MB 665 MHz BIOS_Version1: W8350F03 BIOS_Version2: ALWARE - 8000724 Videocards (2): NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX 512MB - SLI Enabled Hard Drive: 80 Gb - ST980813AS If you need any additional info, I'd be happy to provide it. Thanks, Achalon |

The fan speeds you have to kind of guess too oh yea you can even leave this program running while playing a game and it will record your Max Temps during gameplay which you can veiw after finishing your game. Just Google CPUID Tomahawk out. CM- 690 Coolermaster Case Gigabyte GA-M57SLI- S4/ Bios ver. With the HWMoniter running It's showing CPU temps in accordance with the Notebook Hardware Control program. I have no idea where HMoniter is getting it's CPU info, but it seems to be about 15 degrees off. The only unknown I get from HWMoniter is a general THRM reading which, I'm guessing, is a general internal case temp. No luck with the fans though. Thanks, Achalon |

I could use a laptop like that when I go over to my nephews place for a LAN party perhaps I wouldn't lose so badly the way I do now. Tomahawk out.
