Question what cable do i need???

Hi, I recently purchased a Sound blaster Platinum Audigy 2 ZS, the one that comes with a card and a bit the goes in the front of the pc.

Thing is i have a Sony Cinema Surround system right next to it.

http://www.sony.co.uk/view/ShowProdu...a+Surround+Kit

I can get sound coming out when i connect a straight forward optical cable into the fron t of the PC, but i dont think that it is working properly because when i do a speak test i am only getting sound out of my Front Left and Right speakers not the other 4 + sub. I have connected a mini Tos connector to the end of the optical cable and plugged this into the rear optical connection of the sound card itself but i do not have any sound what so ever.

am i doing something wrong aor am i using the right cable to connect my cinema system to the sound blaster card........Please help. I am quite competent in PC's but this cable thing is gettin on my nerves......

Any help

I had a similar problem when I first installed my 5.1 speaker system, and the problem was at the audio driver, you need to go there (usually an icon installed on Control Panel, on my PC it is called "Sound Effect" (the name varies accordingly to the chip manufacturer) and configure your sound card to use 5.1 system (mine was configured as 2.0).

I hope this helps.

Cheers,
Gabriel.
