Thumbs up differen't temperature readings

Hay, from bios i'm getting a cpu temperature of around 45 degrees C and in 3 or 4 differen't programs i have downloaded, including one from the manufacture of the board, my cpu temperature is 31 degrees. I had been told to go by the reading within bios. just wondering why these other programs are telling me a differen't temperature

here are the specs...

i got a foxconn 945P7AA motherboard
and Intel Celeron D351 3.2ghz [just using the heatsink/fan that came with the cpu]
and inside windows xp non-64bit edition

thanks for any help that anyone can give

Default different temp readins

I use two programs to follow my cpu temperature. They are CPU Idle and MotherBoard Monitor. CPU Idle has dropped my CPU idle temperature from the normal 42 deg. down to 28 deg. I use the MBM to monitor the temperature that your respective motherboard has sensors for. It pretty much follows the same value from my bios Heath Monitor page. The only difference is the time difference when CPU Idle program is inactive when in the CMOS setup. Only after Windows starts up is when CPU Idle program is then activated. You can get CPU Idle at www.cpuidle.de and MotherBoard Monitor www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=311 and try it for yourself.

Default bios gives more reliable data.

Since bios takes the reading directly from thermocouple, it shows the exact reading (subject ot experimental error due to uncertainty) of your cpu temperature. On the other hand, the downloaded program will get the info not from thermocouple, but from bios. If your software is having a bug or not up to date, or is not validated (check it out in their support page) you may get different readings. Juz ignore and take your bios readings.
