Not sure why they just seam to quit and you get the FF on the POST (Power On Self Test) diagnostics display. I don't think it means that it's fully functional. ![]() But it's RMA and hope to have a new one soon. __________________ MS MVP 2005-2008 |

Also be careful with comments like "someone told me that Joe read somewhere", because there is lots of wrong information on the Internet. Make sure you get information from respectable websites. Cheers, Gabriel. |

I noticed this board claims to support "RAID" - but is that true hardware RAID, or just market-speak for "supports multiple hard drives"? Since we're on the subject, what do you think of using striping to increase disk access performance? Is it worth setting up on a gaming rig? I would assume software RAID probably does not give any added benefit. Thank you, Chris |

However all on-board RAID solutions are called "software RAID" as they don't have a dedicated controller (separated chip for this function). Add-on RAID controllers have a higher performance (and are expensive) because they provide a RAID controller. As for your question about RAID, please read these articles: How to setup a RAID: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/393 Does RAID0 really increases performance? http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/394 BTW: if you want to ask more questions about RAID, please open a new thread on the storage section. Thanks, Gabriel. |
