Default my first.....

I think I need some help if this is a right set-up for my first custom pc. Is there any suggestions or advice? Please help me out here. Are all the components compatible? Is there a way to cut down the price a little?


here's what I got;

Motherboard: Asus P5Q SE (P45)
CPU: Intel Core2Duo E7400 (2.83G)
Graphic Card: nVidia Geforce 9600 GS (GDDR3 512MB)
Memory: Samsung DDR2 2G PC2-6400 X2 = 4G
Case: Antec Sonata Elite III or P182 with 500 watt Apevia Power supply

HDD: Samsung 500G [7200RPM] 16MB S-ATA II
DVD: LG 22X S-ATA GSA-GH22LS30

Monitor: Samsung 23" 2343bwx (2048x1152/ 16:9 / 300 cd/m2 / 20000:1 / 5ms)
Keyboard: Thinkpad UltraNav

Hi and welcome!

You really need to provide some more info on what you want from your computer if we're going to help you. Making it cheaper is no sweat, just pick cheaper components with less performance! ... but I don't think that's what you really want.

The main issue:
- What are you going to use the computer for?

Secondary issues:
- What are your priorities? Cost, noise, CPU performance, graphics performance, future upgradeability, low power consumption, etc...
