I confess, I dont know much about computers but Ive developed an interest. I definitely would like to have a computer that is able to handle games with ease. I am thinking about upgrading certain areas of my current computer, but perhaps it would just be better to buy a new one (ugh). Some of my specs are: Motherboard: Asus M2N SLI Nvidia nForce 570 SLI Processor: AMD Athlon 64 x2 4600 Processor w/ Dual Core Technology Memory: 4096 MB Corsair DDR2 Video: 512 MB EVGA Nvidia Geforce 7950 GT Hard Drive: 320 GB 7,200 rpm Power supply: 550 Watt Antec Truepower Trio I would definitely upgrade the graphics card to probably the 8800 GT/GTS but what about the other areas? To run games smoothly what other parts would I need to upgrade or would buying another computer be the better choice? I would really appreciate any help. Thank you. |

An 8800GT would be a better bet than the GTS unless you plan to game at very high resolutions. __________________ Omoikane v.3 MSI K9N Diamond AMD Athlon64 X2 5200+ 2GB PC5300 SoundBlaster Audigy 7.1 HD |

If you want to upgrade your video card that is fine, the only two things I'd change to make your computer into a high-end gaming system are the video card (GeForce 8800 GT or GTS) and the CPU (you can replace your current CPU with any other Athlon 64 with higher clock). Cheers Gabriel. |
