Default Grounding

There has been a new article posted.

Title: Grounding
URL: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article.php?id=18

Here's a snippet:
Many readers have written asking about grounding and if it is really needed.

Electricity only appears when there is a potential difference between two points. For example, if we take two wires, one with a potential of 12 V, and another with a potential of 0 V, then we'll have a potential difference of 12 V. If both wires have 12 V, there will be no potential difference between them, and electric force will be zero ...

Default Very interesting article

Hi,

I would like to react on this article : http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/18

Very interesting article, both of my PCs are not connected to the ground, I always asked myself what kind of problems can occur in that case and nobody could give me the answer, you just did.

I now realise that both of my PCs could be in danger. They are not plugged on the same electric plug and too far from each other to use the "virtual ground" technique but i am working on a way to use the unused pairs of lan cables to create a virtual ground and set their potential difference to zero via the router.

I now understand why some PCI bus (offently the one with the integrated NIC) sometimes die aparently for no reason...this could be the reason why.

Thanx again, this website is awsome
