Many thanks for this information. Will try to apply it. Own 3 differents brands VCR and none of them work fine. ALthough I don´t know if the problems are in the VHS tapes because of the age.

Great article! But I was looking at the http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/fullimage.php?image=1141 image and the http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/fullimage.php?image=1142 one and I don't see the difference.

Are the pictures referring to the direction from which the alcohol soaked paper is applied to the heads? The positioning on the fingers looks the same in both images and I assume it's critical not to directly grasp the face of the drums.

Hello and thanks for your comments.

You have to place the paper wet in alcohol horizontally and not vertically, that is waht I was trying to show with the pictures. In other words, place the paper from left to right (or right to left), but not from up to down!
