One thing I would like to see is throughput. How fast can the system take in data and then push it out. It probably doesn't make a lot of difference for most people, but it is an interesting measurement. I was interested in this MSI board because it could actually make a decent server with its Hypertransport on the backplane. How much data could it take in using the GigE nics and push out to an FC array? Or how many web transactions could it handle per second? Just curious...

the thourough put of a pc is measured is so many differnt instances, that there is no true way to measure it.

Obviously its the hard ware that run's on the mobo itself that will increase or decrease the ability of you'r rig to do work.

a slower cpu will process less data than a faster cpu..

A way to benchmark you'r rig is Sisoftware sandra

you need to watch out though as some benchmarking software a good 85% of you'r score will be based on you'r graphics card( well If you have a half decent one)
