Smith from the U.S. who together at Bell Labs in 1969 invented the Charge- Couple Device which is the primary circuitry that can be found in all digital cameras today. The problem I have with this is it was invented 40 years ago so how come they decided in 2009 to finally give this award?. I guess no one really understood the impact of this technology on the world until recently. This device is out of this world!! it even found a useful purpose on the surface of Mars it captured all the images from the Mars missions and also everyday pictures taken by people all over the world.Congratulations it's a proud day for Canadians. ![]() Tomahawk Out. |
