Default Nobel Prize goes to Canadian for invention of CCD

Hello,
I heard the other day that the Nobel peace prize was awarded to Canadian from Nova Scotia, Willard Boyle and George E. Smith from the U.S. who together at Bell Labs in 1969 invented the Charge- Couple Device which is the primary circuitry that can be found in all digital cameras today.
The problem I have with this is it was invented 40 years ago so how come they decided in 2009 to finally give this award?. I guess no one really understood the impact of this technology on the world until recently. This device is out of this world!! it even found a useful purpose on the surface of Mars it captured all the images from the Mars missions and also everyday pictures taken by people all over the world.Congratulations it's a proud day for Canadians.

Tomahawk Out.

Oh cool, Congrats to him. I definitely say he deserves it. If he invented something that revolutionized something used soo often today.. I'm going to spare you an Obama joke.
