I found some errors in the first part of the PFC chapter, page 10.

The text consequently use the term "power", while at the same time showing units of energy (power x time). An all too common mistake...
Power (P) is measured in watts (W), and apparent power (Q) in volt-ampere (VA).

Oh, and there is a very good reason for using power correction: As stated, high reactive powers might overload "the system". The "system" includes the in-house electrical installations, so a poor power correction will blow fuses and can cause domestic fires.
