Notice the venting holes on the cable side? This is good for cooling the PSU as there will be no dead spaces of still air. The problem is that heated air will be vented out through them and back into the case, increasing the system temperature. This in turn means that the CPU will run slightly hotter and warmer air will be drawn into the PSU, forcing the cooling fan to speed up in order to achieve the same level of cooling.
