Hardware Secrets Power Supply Test Methodology:

Quote:
With the load tester we can also test some of the power supply protections. During our load tests we automatically test two of them: over current and over power protection. If the power supply doesn’t have these two protections it will literally burn when we try to go over its rated specs (bad power supplies will burn even within its specs). The load tester also provides separated short-circuit tests for the +12 V and +5 V outputs by just pressing a button. Of course we will also test this feature.
From the Main Features:
Quote:
Protections: Over voltage (OVP, not tested), under voltage (UVP, not tested), over current (OCP, not tested), over temperature (OTP, not tested) and short-circuit protection (SCP, tested and working).
Cutting corners on the Overload Tests or just not reporting as much???

Is there something at all that makes this PSU stand out in a positive manner compared to the competitors?
Did the somewhat innovative cooling provide any notable result, like extremely low noise or so?

In the overload test you might notice that he pulled 30A off the 20A rated 12V1 line, so at least some sort of OCP-test was done...

Cheers

Yes, I noticed hence the way I stated my question. This is also the second review of short Overload Tests IIRC.

Thanks for asking. We tried overloading it but we reached the limit of our load tester and OCP didn't kick in. I forgot to add this info on the review, but yes, we tested this...
