The performance advantage of EVGA GeForce GTX 465 SuperClocked over the standard GeForce GTX 465 was insignificant (below 3%), since it has a very light GPU overclocking (3%). So we donít see why pay more for the overclocked card to get the same performance level.
Overclocking is 3.0% for the core, 2.9% for the shaders and only 0.4% for the memory. SuperClocked isn't a valid description!
That aside, one reason for paying more might be the quality components, as described on page 3 of the review.
Another possibility, not examined in the review, is the overclocking potential. The quality components might allow for some serious extra overclocking, pushing it further than an overclocked reference card?

So unless you plan to play a PhysX-based game or are a stubborn NVIDIA fanboy, we see no reason why you would buy the new GeForce GTX 465.
I totally agree with this conclusion. (I think the 4650 is also too slow to run GF 3D Vision.)

Cheers

Thank you very much for your unbiased review. Very interesting to see just how bad this card really is.

And you didn't even go into power usage, which is apparently much higher than one would expect from a card with this much chopped out of it.

My view is that the GF100 is a poor piece of engineering. They couldn't release it with the full 512 cores it was designed to use, and the GTX 480 runs just cool enough not to melt and not require a nuclear reactor to power it.

Maybe they will fix it with a new chip (GF104), but it is unfortunate that they felt they had to sell this GPU as it is.
