Default

One acronym that Swedes have a love/hate relationship to is BAMSE.

For Swedes Bamse is the name of a bear figuring in a kids comics series. When eating a special honey, Bamse becomes the strongest bear in the world. He is also the kindest and nicest bear in the world!

Not too long ago the Swedish arms manufacturer Bofors began production of BAMSE, Bofors Advanced Medium range Surface to air missilE (quite possibly PUMCODOXPURSACOMLOPOLAR), leading to some confusion.
How can a SAM be named after the least dangerous creature out there?

Some of my favourites are TLA (Three Letter Acronym), paired with ETLA (Extended Three Letter Acronym).
