Very nice comparison! (Although the issue of overclockability might come into play and isn't covered in the comparison.)

As I see it, which CPU to pick boils down to three issues; In order of raising magnitude:
1) Price of motherboard. AM3 motherboards are available in cheaper varieties.
2) Power consumption. Intel takes the lead in this point.
3) What to start with, and where to go next. The tested CPUs were the very high end for AM3 and the very low end for 1156. You can start with a cheaper CPU for AM3 and upgrade to one of these later on, or you can start with an i5-750 and go upwards later on. I think it will be difficult for AMD to conjure up a CPU with significantly more performance per core in the near future, while Intel already have faster options available.
