ATHENA, yeah, right...
Thank you! It's ABOUT TIME someone started looking at SFF PSUs. I thought the Athena's - all of them - are "suspect" having bought 2x "400W" 4 years ago. Voltages didn't check out so never used them, even as paperweights. 20-22ga wire, if you can believe that. I bought SilenX iExtrema SFX 400's instead. Very good, expensive but have a HUGE modular array of wires which will NOT work with ANY SFF case that I know of. Rewired them from the PCB out. That was 12/07. Supposedly they have an OEM version without the glitz and a lot cheaper but I have never seen one for sale anywhere.
Please check out Seasonic, Silverstone and FSP/InWin for starters. SFX and TFX. People on the Egg are continually complaining about not being able to find quality SFF PSU's. Hey, how about a roundup? There aren't that many of them.
All I can say for this review is Intro skip to conclusion. "Nuff said." GIGO.
This entire segment has been completely overlooked. Start with the best brands, 80+ and go down from there.

HardwareSecrets and Jonnyguru have both reviewed the 300W Seasonic 80+ bronze TFX unit and I think both did the 300W FSP SFX box that is used in the Silverstone S05. Based on their reviews, I would not hesitate to use either one.
