Default First time build

Picked out the components for my first time build, just need confirmation all parts are compatible..could anyone take a look for me as I'm not sure!

Graphics:-
ASUS PCI-E A HD7870-DC2-2GD5-V2

Processor:-
Intel Core i5-3350P - 3.1GHz - Socket 1155

Hard disk:-
Seagate 1TB 3.5" SATA-600 7200rpm 64MB

SSD:
Samsung 840 Series 120GB

Motherboard:-
ASRock H77M - Socket 1155 - Micro-ATX

Memory:-
Corsair 4GB DDR3 1600MHz UDIMM (2x4GB = 8GB)

Case:-
Cooler Master K280

PSU:-
Corsair CX Series CX500M - 500 Watt

OS:-
Microsoft Windows 8 64-bit

Just want to make sure it will all work together and fit in the case?

It seems like a great configuration, I wouldn't change anything. The only item to improve would be the CPU cooler. You didn't mention one, so I am assuming you are using the stock one, which is loud and not efficient.

What kind of money would that be for a decent one? Any brands you would recommend?

Go with a CoolerMaster Hyper 212. Those can be had for <$30, and are offer very good cooling performance.
