Default On-Board Audio

My new computer has on-board audio as well. The shop that built mine, used on-board audio, but my old computer had the Creative Labs Audio FX sound card. Just curious, Does this sound card increase the decibals of the sound and increase the number of speakers that you can use? If not, then why would people purchase a new sound card, if the computer has one already built into it? Thanks.

Hi,

Please post a link to your sound card on the manufacturer website so I can answer you better.
