What RAM should I buy for my Gateway desktop E-2000?
I upgraded the pc to 2G of RAM, but it did not take, the screen froze.
The memory was 266mhz low density, pc 2100
Then I tried a high density 128x64 kit, 400mhz, 2 G kit, & it would not connect to Windows, said no input signal repeatedly.
When I replaced the original sticks, it went back to normal, those stats were 400mhz, on 1, & 333mhz on the other.
Should I try a low density (64x8) 400 mhz kit? I see Samsung carrys it, same # of pins, for a Dell, would this also work in a Gateway?

You could try. These old computers usually are not compatible with high-density RAM.
Have you tried to check on the support page on the manufacturer's website?
