Regarding your inclusion of the "Full Auto..." ads in your blog; I'm not sure what your point is, besides it being somewhat unusual, and you did not comment about it. There are of course other places in the US where one can fire fully automatic weapons, and yes you usually don't see it advertised. I presume to non-Americans, and some American's as well, that might be a bit odd or frightening. There are shooting ranges all over the US that are used by people every day without a negative incident. US citizens cannot own fully automatic weapons, except under special circumstances and after undergoing a screening process, licensing, and training. Therefore, being able to fire them is unusual and a novelty to those that appreciate firearms. People do unusual things in Las Vegas, and among them might be experiencing an automatic weapon.

And of course, marketing has no shame.

I think the point is that you can go to the gun store and buy an automatic to bring with you on the return flight...
I wonder if presenting the SkyMall folder as evidence that "the airline company says it's okay" will help you through airport security?

Cheers

I live in the US (in Nevada, N.B.), and I've been to some shooting ranges, but none had automatic weapons for you to try, and The Gun Store is the only one, as far as I know, that advertises massively in Vegas. You can probably find their ads even inside urinals.

The unusual aspect of it, and that's why I put in the blog, is advertising on the same magazines that advertise Sin City's shows and attractions. So you can choose between watching a magician, a comic, a big-name singer, or to unload an AK47.

Cheers,
Gabriel
