Question help set up for best sound quality

the use of my laptop as the source ,and outgoing thru its phone jack in going to aux line in of a mini system with speakers ,does not give the sound quality as am using any portable CDP as the source ,and set up same as above ;
why ? is it because ;

by using the sound out of any thing being laptop or stereo system of any sort ,am actually using that dac and dsp ? ' then when getting it into aux line in to another mini system am using the amp and speakers and [ again its dac ? of that system again ?

The audio level is probably too high. I'd suggest using an SPDIF connection:

That is exactly what you should try.

Phone jack is not used for audio, but for dial-up internet.

USB connection is a digital connection, but you will need an external device. You should try SPDIF or HDMI.

sorry the head phone jack out for audio '

the following just read at another forum ;which gives me the impression that usb and spdif are two options "?

S/PDIF is the same whether it's carried over optical or coaxial. The bitstreams are exactly the same, just pulses of light in place of pulses of voltage. It's limited to 24 bit 48khz audio in it's basic form, but I'm pretty sure most game audio is at 48khz anyway so that's not really a limitation.

USB is another way to get a digital signal out of the computer and to a DAC, alot more flexible than S/PDIF, allows bidirectional communication between your computer and the audio device, as well as basically unlimited format support, up to the limits of the audio device itself, but as stated above that may only be 24/48 anyway.

then what all those about ;
fire wire to usb,
halide design bridge ,

OR5,
MCRU linear power supply.

and are used to enhance the sound quality of the dac ??
