Default Laptop won't boot up, tried many methods.

I have a Dell Studio 17 laptop and it was working fine last night. I shut the lid down to put it on stand by but it took a while to shut off and I'm perhaps thinking it overheated during that time? It was only a few minutes.

My laptop does get hot and has overheated a few times before and I usually drain the battery for it to boot back up.

This time, I've tried it twice and it's just not getting very far... the lights on my charger are fine and so is my battery because I tried to boot it with just the battery and the same thing happened. The dell lights flicker on and the fans start up but, it just turns back off!

Is she stuffed? I can't afford to go to a repair a shop or even wait around to get it fixed! I have important work on it.

I have just swapped power outlets and have yet to try again but I'm worried the more I try, the more it's going down hill

Thankyou in advance for any help or advice.

Most of that isn't relevant to laptops. Try another charger. If it still refuses to turn on, then it's probably the motherboard, which is rarely fixable on a laptop.
