Default Sata Connections

I read your review with interest. I am planning my first build and am areal noob at this. Your major negative was the number of SATA connections...8. Can't you buy a power cable with more SATA connections then 3? Would that blow the warranty? Or is your criticism because you are already paying $200 it should be included. I agree that is pricey but it sure compares to other PSU's I've been looking at that don't have the same quality. I would love to see a comparison and opinion (including a rating) on multiple PSU's and components.

Hi and welcome to our forums.

You could buy an extra SATA cable, this wouldn't void the warranty.

Our remark about the SATA connectors was only in comparison to other 850 W PSUs (e.g. Corsair HX850W) that have more connectors, for most users this shouldn't be a problem.

Cheers,
Gabriel.

Hi and thanks for another great in-deph review. These are the best PSU reviews I've seen around.

Couldn't find audible noise values on this PSU series not even from the manufacturer sheet.

I'm searching for a new psu for a quiet watercooled pc. No need to go fanless here.

I went to Sanyo Denki but there are several options and max noise could be 29dbA to 44dbA. Is it possible to tell what fan model ref. cools this PSU?

Here's a review of the X-760 showing an image of the fan used. Hope this helps.

It does use the same fan as the X-850. Hers's an image of the 850 fan.

This review at SPCR should interest you.
