I really like DeLorean's lack of paint!
It's just that stainless steel might be a bit too heavy (for a sports car) compared to optional materials.

The DMC-12 body is made of aluminum, not steel.

Wrong. The original panels are brushed SS304 stainless steel.

Thanks for correcting me, it is so beautiful that looks like brushed aluminum. BTW. Here in Reno there is a gold-plated DeLorean at the National Automobile Museum. I've already talked about it here, it is really amazing:
