I still wanna see how peanut butter works.

I expect that they will not do a peanut butter test, as it could create a hard-to-clean oily mess.

Toothpaste was a cool idea.
"[...]Colgate Total toothpaste. It was the best smelling thermal compound we tried so far."

LOL

Dry toothpaste was hard enough to clean off...

Nice to see my choice of AS5 still a top runner

I wonder how carbon grease (the stuff used for skateboard bearings) would perform I hear carbon is an good thermal conductor

You've got yourselves a nice little database of comparisons here, and the oddball "compounds" you've used have turned out not to be useful simply for their comedic value. When real TIM products are within a few degrees of lipstick and toothpaste, that is really terrible IMO. Actually, considering that the difference between the best performing TIM and lipstick or toothpaste is 8C/14F, that just seems weird to me, I feel like the difference should be greater. Just an impression, nothing more.

Also, no offense, but some of the room temperature's recorded during the testing are a bit unusual IMO. The sub-20C "room temperatures" are not exactly what I consider room temperature. What room in a home or office is kept at temps below 60F? It seems someone's PC lab is in their garage, patio, or backyard shed. Sure helps when overclocking... Thanks guys.

There's a broad test I've seen somewhere on the net where a guy tested just about every item you can think of, and then some...

For example: Thermal connection is now proven to be one of the few uses where duct tape is not useful!
