There has been a new article posted.

Title: ASRock Z77 Extreme6 Motherboard
URL: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/artic...therboard/1511

Here is a snippet:
"The Intel Z77 chipset will be released in April, but we had the privilege of getting the ASRock Z77 Extreme6 for a "first look" article. It will be an entry high-end (or top mid-range, if you will) so..."

Was just reading Newegg reviews and one review specifically mentions HS's comments about the voltage regulator, which led me to the actual review.

You state actual phases as 8+2+2. The VAXG, video controller, is not mentioned separately. Is this correct??? Is the analog voltage regulator controller a minor drawback compared to a design with a digital controller???

I forgot to check this, as you will see I only started to paying attention to the VAXG line in the latest articles. I don't have this board here anymore, but the VAXG voltage is obviously generated by the same circuit, using the digital controller.

Sorry but now I am confused. The voltage regulator page states the voltage regulator is controlled by an ISL6367 intergrated circuit, using an analog design.

OK, the product page seems to clear this up, its a hybrid design. The last sentence of the first paragraph of the Descrption:

Quote:
This hybrid digital approach eliminates the need of NVM and Firmware often seen in a full digital solution and significantly reduces design complexity, inventory and manufacture cost.

On Dual Outputs section states:
Quote:
Output 2 (VR1): Single Phase for Graphics, System Agent, or Processor I/O
As an aside it's imposible to copy your text to accurately quote you???

My bad. Analog.

PS: We blocked control+C and control+V because there were too many websites copying our contents.
