Default No picture using HDMI cable

My problem is this...using a HDMI cable my monitor will not recognize it and just displays-No Cable Connected-.
I had the computer hooked to my 720p tv via HDMI and it worked fine until i ran SWTOR and something changed...now it reads -Invalid Format-(If anyone has any ideas as how to fix this it would be great)
The monitor works on another computer connected with a VGA cable but my motherboard doesnt have one.
I am running integrated graphics right now on a core i7-3770k and sabrethooth Z77 Motherboard and only have HDMI and DisplayPort connections.
My monitor is a BenQ GL2750 and has HDMI, DVI, and VGA connections.
I was wondering if it was just a connection issue and using a different cable and adapter would work or if it was more along the lines of needing a graphics card.
Any help would be appreciated

It can be:

1. Configuration problem
2. Bad contact
3. Bad cable
4. Bad HDMI input on your monitor

You have to test each possibility individually. I'd install the monitor on another HDMI video source (e.g., video game console or Blu-Ray player) to test.

Well as it turns out the only problem with my monitor is me being an idiot...didn't change the input style. I thought there would be an input labeled button onthe side and since I did not see one u assumed it automatically detected one, which wasn't the case. In my blind rage I was pushing every button on the side and as it turns out the Enter button changes the input type. I feel much better now that I know everything works and I thank you for your help, if you have any ideas on my tv display problem that would put a cherry on my cake for sure. Thank you

Default Cheers

Thanks, I had the same problem and this post led me to the simple solution. I am playing on Ubuntu and went looking in some dark places, all unnecessary in the end. cheers.
