Default Building custom gaming pc

Hey all,

So I've allways been into pc gaming but I've never had a good game pc at my disposal. But now I've got the money to buy and build my own gaming pc. The only problem now is I don't have a clue on what parts I should buy. I'm thinking about spending $1000 to $1300. Now my question to you guys is if anyone can help me with the picking of parts since I don't want to pick parts which underperform or which aren't compatible. Thank you in advance.

(p.s sorry for the horrible english it isn't my native language)

Thanks, this'll really help to base my pc of off. But how is your power supply working out since I hear a lot of people talking about you shouldn't buy a cheaper psu and 550w is not that much? But that's just what i heard. Thanks (:

550w is plenty for my single GPU unit so no worries there. Rosewill doesn't have a lot of following due to their reputation for corner cutting in important areas, but the Rosewill Capstone series is actually a Super Flower internals PSU. I did some research and this Rosewill was the cheapest when I compared with Seasonic and other of the most respected brands while keeping a high approval rating from some well respected sources.

EDIT: All of these reviews give glowing praise on its efficiency and performance. I haven't found one really to the contrary.
