Default Gaming PC Build | First Build [Help]

Hi, All.
I'm wanting to build a Gaming PC, but being my first build, I'm not sure as to which items to use.
I have in mind which GPU I would like to use, but I'm not sure where to go from there. (Which Motherboard Best Suits, RAM and HDD)
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
-
I'm wanting to use the Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition by Gigabyte, but have no idea which motherboard (preferably Intel) would best suit using this GPU.

Pick a Core i5 Ivy Bridge and a Z77-based motherboard. 8 GB of RAM (DDR3-2133). A 650 W or 750 W PSU from Seasonic, XFX or Antec. I hope that helps.

Thanks,
Would you be able to give a little more information about those?
I'm not very "up there" when it comes to computer knowledge.

What kind of information do you need? Try www.newegg.com, type in these names and see by yourself the options available and prices...

Ok, So, so far I've decided on the Following
MSI Z77 MPOWER, which is Intel Z77 Chipset Based
Along with the Previously Stated GPU by GIGABYTE
and Two DDR3 2666 4Gb (LINK!)

Any advice on other Items would be great.
would the 650 PSU from SeaSonic still Suffice?

I don't think Gabriel realised you were from NZ. Newegg only ship to the US and Canada.

Your configuration should be fine, but I'm not too familiar with NZ based retailers.

Finding the Products shouldn't be too hard, it's just the specifications of what to use, because I'm not overly "Computer Savvy".
MSI and Gigabyte both have New Zealand Websites, and I'm sure a lot of other Brands do also.

Information on cooling systems and case size i'll most likely require would be appreciated.

OK, I had a quick look at NZ based online stores and PConlineshop seem to have the best range of the few I looked at. Here's the sort of configuration I'd go with:

Case: CoolerMaster Centurion 5 II (Or whatever takes your fancy. The C5II is just a good value for money option)

CPU: Core i5 3470

or

Core i7 3770 (if you can afford it)

CPU cooler: CoolerMaster Hyper 212

RAM: 8GB Kingston HyperX Blu

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H
http://pconlineshop.co.nz/pcshop/pro...d782d11d9b1aa5

HDD: WD Caviar Black 1TB

PSU: Seasonic S12II 620W

DVD Drive: Samsung SH-224

GPU: The one you had in mind
