Talking Nice try Powercase, you forgot to remove the old label

As some of you may know, I also review power supplies, and at the end of every year, I publish a roundup of all of the cheap and nasty power supplies I had the chance to load test throughout that year (called the El Cheapo Power Supply Roundup). A few days ago, I purchased a Powercase "550W" power supply for the next roundup, which can be had for around $25. I found on the load tester that 350W was about the limit and it exploded when I asked for 420 or so. After the load testing, I couldn't help but notice a slight bulge in the label (just noticeable in the picture). So, I peeled the label off and guess what? There was another label which gave away the real model - a Huntkey CP-350. That would explain the load test results . I did find it quite funny, though, that Powercase couldn't even be bothered removing the old label. I included a shot of its internals too. It's a low end half-bridge design.

They must have cut margins pretty thin if they couldn't afford to peel off the old label

By the way, I read your El Cheapo round-up in January. Gold.

I know this thread is old and I don't mean to necropost, but I'm puzzled as to how you pulled even 350W from it at 240V. This review of an almost identical power supply from Huntkey (also the CP-350) couldn't even make it to 300W (it maxed out at 280W @ 220V) and exploded at 350W. Unless of course the fan was running at +12V...
