Default Odd trouble with OS boot

So I installed my OS on my Kingston Hyper X SSD drive and everything seemed to be fine, but when I restarted my computer I got the error "Reboot and select a proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device."
I went into my BIOS and made sure that the drive was the first in my boot priority queue, saved then restarted still with the same error. Another trip into BIOS I selected the drive in a boot override menu with success. I haven't had any problems with daily operation but now on every boot I haven't to manually select the drive in order for it to work.
After some time this has become annoying so if anybody has a fix for this I would be greatly appreciative.
(My motherboard is a Sabertooth Z77)

1. Did you upgrade the motherboard BIOS to its latest version?
2. Did you upgrade the SSD's firmware to its latest version?

This issue also turns up sometimes after installing Windows to a new drive without unplugging all other drives. For some reason Windows sometimes installs boot files to another drive in the system, causing the boot problem. I believe that since Vista it's been SOP to unplug storage drives during OS installation. Glad the BIOS update fixed it, I know you were sweating bullets there for a minute!
