I have this power supply... Bought it because it was cheaper than PCP&C's quad sli version...

So I know it's probably not of the highest quality.

However I am running SLI 8800GTX's off of it with no problem.

Did you actually try to hook up an 8800GTX or just guess that it wouldn't fit? Because it does fit. (I have evga 8800gtx's if that matters)

The main problem with the GTX and this PSU is that with the outward connector the ferrite core really wants to live outside the case panel so you kind of have to work a nice bend into it for your case to close.

I am also running an old athlon x2 4400+ oc'd to 2.6 which drains a ton of power AND I have 11 hard drives, 4 of them raptors, all internal and most of them hooked to a 8 port 3ware 9500-8.

4 Optical drives, an xfi etc... I'm running Dual 8800's plus more gear than most servers and a power hungry cpu and it does the job well.

I will definetly look at the Enermax and of course PCP&C next time I'm in need of a big PSU but so far i'm happy with the Tagan and I know I didn't get the best when I picked it.

That's quite a rig, but quite honestly even that Tagan is overkill. But that's the name of the game, isn't it? Overkill.

IMHO, you're not pushing that Tagan beyond 50A on the 12V rail, I'm quite sure.

I do agree about the PCI-e connectors. I've installed a few of the 8800GTX's and although I haven't used the Tagan on any of them, I do recall the connectors on the top of the video card are far enough apart for most any power connector.

i'm looking for some good load test review to see whether those 1kw can live, but what???? no load at all?

it's better u rip those psu apart and see what inside but using other website review analysis is not wise

from the figure 22 u r talkin bout enermax independent transformer circuitry while tagan didn't have. is it possible becoz enermax just put 2 x 500w psu circuit into 1 psu? that explain why the circuit is fully independent
