However, there is one err...precaution I'd like to add to your procedure, and that is using an ANTI-STATIC STRAP !I know I know.."REAL" techies doe KNEE no stinkin anti-static strap, right ? Wrong! I've been doing electronics/computers/UNameIt stuff or over two-decades, and I've seen the harm done when a simple "static-strap" is not used. Of course, if you are very careful, you can always "ground yourself out" but personally I'm not willing to risk blowing an expensive SO-DIMM module out when I could just go down to "Radio Shack" (or similar) and pick-up a decent strap for a few dollars. Best of all, I can reuse it !!Scramjet |
