Example: when the cd-rom starts spinning, I wonder how much the wattage goes up. I hope Enermax releases something like this, since that's the brand I use for PS's. |

I am trying to buy for a server whose power supply opening is too small for traditional units so external would be the only option. |

It is supposed to be totally silent, so the first surprise comes when you open the manual: it is only silent up to 350W, then the fan kicks in. No worries, I was willing to settle for that, but the fan kicked in at 130W (the lowest power my computer draws) at 26C (room temperature). The fan itself is LOUD. Louder than all the five (5) fans I have in my computer together. I can hear it from the next room. I tried to call their tech support: 626-581-9887. Nobody there (i kept calling for 10 days. Voice mailbox is full. You are transferred to the operator. The operator is not there (ever). Operator mailbox is full. Sometimes there are people in Sales, and they always promise that tech support will be in next day. Never happens. Before you buy this product (BTW it is NOT a 600W power supply, more like 500W) call their support and see if someone answers... |
